Initial Reaction:

Initially I was gifted my 1st bottle of this from Drunk Elephant when I was doing the movie Spiral (Saw IX) a few summers ago. Beauty brands will sometimes send wonderful packages with their items for us to use on our actors, gift, or try out on ourselves. So when I got my hands on this item I was thrilled to try it out on myself. I am a big fan of bronzers!

I was super pleased to find out that this was actually skincare disguised as a bronzing serum. D Bronzi is a skincare serum that helps fight against environmental stressors & signs of aging. How cool is that?

A quick little D Bronzi meets Fenty Eaze Drops Tutorial. Anyone can do this makeup & it will leave your skin looking like your skin but better.

Usage:

The beauty about this product is that because it is so concentrated you really want to use it as an additive to your favourite serums, moisturizers, or foundations. I personally like to add a few drops to my Fenty Beauty Eaze Drops for a natural glowy tint.

Since you really only have to use a small amount at a time, this product has the potential to last for awhile.

My Skin Concerns:

  • General dryness
  • Fine lines
  • Enlarged pores
  • Minimal breakouts
  • Slight Rosacea on cheeks

Claims:

“What it does – Like sunshine in a bottle without the damaging effects. Omega-rich virgin marula and black currant seed oils, along with vitamin F (fatty acids), immediately replenish the delicate balance that supports a healthy barrier function, while a concentrated mix of protective antioxidants boosts skin’s defenses against pollution and environmental stressors—all delivered with a bronzy finish.”

Drunk Elephant

“What else to know – Raw, unrefined cocoa powder adds an infusion of good-for-skin polyphenols, platinum peptide acetyl tetrapeptide-17 strengthens, and a chronopeptide mimics the antioxidant benefits of vitamin D. D-Bronzi™ is formulated at the ideal pH of 4.8.

P.S. “D-Bronzi™ is a mixer and is way too concentrated to be used alone. Add a drop or more to any of our serums, moisturizers, or our Virgin Marula Oil for an allover sunshiny glow on face and body.”

“100% free of essential oils, silicones, and fragrance. Vegan and cruelty-free.”

Subtle soft natural glow

Results:

Drunk Elephant is very serious about great skincare and that is why I love so many of their products. These D Bronzi Drops are no exception either, I love it!

My favourite time of year to use this is in the spring when everything is starting to warm up & I don’t quite have a tan yet but I’m looking for that natural subtle glow so that I don’t look too pasty. I also really love that because you’re adding it to skincare or makeup, it gives the impression that the glow is really coming from your own skin & not something that you’re wearing or putting on.

Final Thoughts:

Depending on just how fair your skin is this product might not be for you. Because you’re to dilute it in your skincare or makeup it most likely won’t be too dark but it’s something that I would recommend to test out before purchasing.

For my melanin rich friends, depending on the depth of your complection you might not necessarily notice a change in the tone of your skin however I believe this bronzer would still give you all of the benefits of the skincare while still giving a glowing/blurring effect.

Will I Re-Purchase?

Definitely! If not just for the amazing skincare properties alone but also because it helps make my skin look healthy.

A final note:

Drunk Elephant is a cruelty free brand, not all of their products are vegan however. Logical Harmony has a great database of all of Drunk Elephant’s vegan products or you can check their ingredients list yourself. I also like to search for vegan items using vegan as a keyword search on Sephora’s site so that might be useful to you as well.

Lastly, Drunk Elephant is owned by Shiseido and unfortunately Shiseido does test on animals and is not considered cruelty free. My stance on shopping cruelty free & vegan is that I believe we vote with our dollars. So if my money is supporting a company/products that are cruelty free & vegan then that will encourage more companies to supply more products/brands like that. Simple supply & demand really.

And having been vegan for as long as I have, I can tell you, IT WORKS! BUT, we should all make our own choices so if you are not comfortable supporting a company that is owned by a non cruelty free company then I totally respect that.
