Isle of Paradise - Vegan Review - Vegan Beauty - A Blog About Stuff

Price: (1.01 oz/ 30ml) $38 CAD

Initial Reaction: I was super optimistic about this product. Especially after trying St. Tropez’s awful body water mist. So I was hopeful to find a really good self-tanning product, one that truly works. I also was excited about the customization aspect. Being able to control how deep you want your tan is a huge plus. And this tanner is one of the clean beauty stamps which is hard to find with self-tanners.

Usage: I bought my first bottle in June of 2020 & re-purchased in August. I use these drops twice a week usually. So I guess it lasts about 2 months. It works out to just over $2 per application.

Skin Concerns: I have an olive undertone & I find when I’m pale it looks sallow and I feel like I look unhealthy. Even after a small amount of sun exposure I tend to get a glow back, which instantly boosts my complexion. So, I tend to try a bunch of different tanning oils, lotions, glow boosters, etc. Just to keep my skin looking healthy & bright.

Claims: “Married to your moisturizer but want that super-tanned glow, too? Simply add these color-correcting Self Tanning Drops to your moisturizer for a natural, sunkissed glow with no streaks, smells, or orange tones. Isle of Paradise has combined a color corrective approach with a tanning-know-how to bring you your best glow ever—whether that’s for the beach or brunch. All drops combine organic tanning actives with avocado, chia seed, and coconut oils for a happy, hydrated glow.
The peach drops are formulated with Oxy Glow™ complex, which is clinically proven to brighten your skin, the green drops are formulated with Super Balance™ complex to reduce redness, calm the skin, and improve your karma, and the violet drops are formulated with Hyper Violet™ complex to reduce orange/sallow tones and raise your tanning game.”

Results: Golden, sun-kissed, Barbie haha. Because you mix these drops with your own moisturizer, you can really control how tanned you want to be. The moisturizer also helps to keep your skin soft & smooth, which I find is lacking in a lot of self-tanning products. Most of the time you have to choose between your moisturizer and your self-tanner after a wash. With these little self-tanning drops you don’t have to choose anymore, yay!

The colour is even and it looks like a perfectly natural sun-kissed tone.

Final Thoughts: I am officially a huge fan of these Self-Tanning Drops. I really love the tone/colour that it eventually sets into. It’s a very natural/real looking skin-tone as opposed to others that turn a bit too orange. Isle of Paradise has definitely done the work & this product that they’ve come up with truly is great. I will add however, I’m also currently using one of their mousse self-tanner & I’m having some issues with it. So I won’t say everything they make is awesome, but the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops are bomb dot com!

Will I Re-purchase? Yup, this will be a product I use twice a week for a long time!
