Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Body Butter

Vegan Beauty Review

Price: $33CAD (6.76 oz/ 200 mL)

Initial Reaction: Already having been a fan of Isle of Paradise’s Self-Tanning Drops, I had high expectations for their new Self-Tanning Body Butter. One of the downsides to self-tanners is that they can leave your skin a bit dry because you’re skipping the moisturizer for the tan. Que, this vegan self-tanning moisturizer and a huge reason why I already love their self-tanning drops, MOISTURIZER!!!

Needless to say, I was super excited to try this new vegan product from Isle of Paradise.

Usage: I like to use a self-tanner once or twice a week, depending on how bronzed I want to feel and the time of year. I bought my first bottle March 10th and at the time of writing this (April 19th), I still have at least two more applications left.

That works out to about $1.90 a day for 39 days. So it’s safe to say that it should last you at least a month, depending on your application frequency, etc.

Skin Concerns:

  • No real body skin issues, I just like an easy overall sun kissed looking glow that doesn’t look patchy or orange and weird

Claims: “Get buttered up with an indulgent golden glow for your body.

The illuminating formula hydrates & nourishes with a natural blend of coconut, eucalyptus & peppermint oils. Featuring green colour correcting actives to cancel redness on the skin. A richer version of your body moisturiser with added gradual glow, this is vacation-ready skin, every day!”

“WHY YOU’LL LOVE ME

  • Rich texture for an indulgent, hydrating finish
  • Blend of skin-saving oils replenish, rejuvenate and soften skin
  • Fast-absorbing and non-greasy
  • Gradual self-tan for a natural glow that’s buildable with each use
  • Illuminating pigments for an instant glow
  • Vegan, cruelty free

Results: Since this vegan self-tanner is in a body butter form you can literally just squirt the product into the palm of your hand and rub it in like any other moisturizer. I like to be pretty thorough to ensure smooth even application.

The colour is a beautiful golden bronze that doesn’t look orange or overly fake. The colour isn’t immediate and takes about 4-8 hours to see the results. It does however leave an instant illuminated result with their golden pearlescent finish.

One very important thing to note, I like to moisturize my dry areas before applying this self-tanner. My dry areas include, hands, feet, elbows and knees. I find the product can cling to dryer skin areas and putting a layer of moisturizer on first can help eliminate that issue.

Also, I take a soapy damp face cloth after application and wipe down the palms of my hands and my finger nails & toe nails.

Final Thoughts: This stuff is good. I think it has decent value and I love that this vegan self-tanner is one of the cleaner self-tanners out there. I also love that Isle of Paradise is entirely vegan & cruelty free and that they promote body positivity.

Will I Re-Purchase? Yup, already have. I also bought a bottle for my mom to try out too.
