Want to up your vegan beauty game while also being mindful of the planet? Then you need to get your hands on these makeup eraser cloths (or their knockoffs). Switching to microfibre cloths instead of single-use disposable makeup wipes will not only save you money but also reduce a huge amount of landfill waste!

Price:

The Original Pink – $26 CAD (measures approx. 15.5in x 7.25in.)

Initial Reaction:

This cloth is a game-changer. I’ve been using these since they launched in 2013 & have amassed about 9 or 10 of them now. I remember when I first went to try it out I was somewhat skeptical of its claims.

I mean, what magic cloth can take away all of your makeup including stubborn mascara?

Usage:

I like to have at least 7 of these for everyday of the week (I use 1 a day). I don’t like to use any products to wash my face in the morning so instead I will use cool water to rinse my skin & then I’ll soak a Makeup Eraser Cloth in warm water and give my skin a gentle exfoliation/rub. It leaves my skin feeling fresh & clean & ready for my morning skincare routine.

At night I like to wet & wash my face first, I mainly use Kopari’s Coconut Cleansing Oil. So I’ll wash with that & then I’ll soak the Makeup Eraser Cloth in warm water & remove any leftover grime & dirt. I love using it as my final cleansing step; it just makes everything feel clean and removed. Then I’ll do my bedtime skincare. (To note, I use it even when I’m not wearing makeup that day)

Skin Concerns:

  • Dryness
  • Mini Breakouts
  • Uneven Texture
  • Pore Size
  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Vegan Beauty Claims:

#1 Sustainable makeup remover in the world. Erase ALL makeup with JUST water! Including waterproof mascara, eyeliner, foundation, lipstick and more!

The Original MakeUp Eraser is a premium, patented, polyester cloth that is made up of millions of tiny hair-like fibers to work as a “suction” for all dirt, makeup and oil in your pores. Double-sided to erase makeup with the short fibers and exfoliate the skin with the long fibers (side with tag). Antibacterial, machine washable and reusable 3 to 5 years. Ultra-soft, dermatologist approved and great for sensitive skin.

1 MakeUp Eraser is equal to 3600 makeup wipes! No chemicals, less waste. #nomorewipes” (I LOVE THAT IT IS SO MUCH LESS WASTEFUL)

Results:

Very rarely do I have to scrub or pay extra attention to a certain area after using this cloth to remove my makeup. It takes all mascaras off super easily. I find the warmer the water & not ringing it out too much helps. I also like to hold the cloth on my eyes for a few seconds (especially when wearing eye makeup) just to let the warmth & the cloth sink into the makeup. Then I gently massage & wipe clean. It’s super fast & simple, like a face cloth but 100x’s more efficient.

Single Use Flushable Wipes Are Bad on the Environment Vegan Beauty Makeup Eraser
Single-use “flushable” Wipes can be found everywhere. From Oceans to clogged drain pipes.

Final Thoughts:

I’m definitely a life-long customer now. There are other knock-off brands that work just as well. I bought a couple from Miniso & I know the Face Halo is pretty much the same thing. It is a really great product/tool to have to minimize your impact on the environment, to save money (not constantly buying disposable wipes), & to get a really thorough clean. Not to mention, their are a ton of harmful chemicals found in traditional makeup wipes.

I like to take a couple on all of my vacations because they’re light weight & when you run out of cleanser it’s really not that big of a deal with these bad boys on hand. I also love that they are through & through vegan & cruelty-free.

They are also Dermatologist approved, hypoallergenic, eco-friendly, antibacterial, chemical-free, machine washable, & great for sensitive skin.

Will I Re-purchase?

Duh! They claim to last 3-5 years but I think it all depends on how many you have on hand. If you’re constantly using multiples a week then I think they’ll last even longer.

Ps. Hang dry to keep them lasting even longer!

Where To Buy this vegan beauty item?

Makeup Eraser site, Sephora (cheaper on Sephora FYI), I’ve also seen them in CVS in the states.
