Vegan Beauty Review – Do We Love Kosas Lip Gloss?

We all know that I do love my lip glosses & balms. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect vegan beauty formula but like all beauty products, there are many that miss the mark completely. Which is why I truly enjoy doing these reviews for you all. If I can save you some money or share the reasons why I think a product is great, then I’ve done my duty!

That being said, let’s get into this month’s vegan beauty item!

Price:

Kosas Plump & Juicy Lip Booster – $31 (CAD) for 0.5 oz / 15 mL

Initial Reaction: 

I really have been on the hunt for the perfect vegan lip product. I even put 5 different vegan lip balms to the test to try & find my perfect formula. You can check it out here. 

So it’s understandable that I was super pumped that one of my favourite brands launched a new vegan lip balm. 

Kosas is a really great brand in general. They believe in clean skincare & makeup. Kosas is always cruelty-free, micro plastic free, & their packages are Tree-free or FSC-certified cartons. *Be mindful because not every single product is vegan, although all items are labelled when vegan. 

Usage: 

My Sephora order arrived on June 30th & I have been using it everyday, at least twice a day (with my morning & nighttime skincare routines) ever since. It’s now September 17th and it’s still going strong. 

Skin Concerns: 

I hate when my lips feel dry, so I was looking for a product that would keep them hydrated but ALL DAY LONG!!! I was also so sick & tired of having to reapply lip glosses & lip balms every hour. I was trying to find THE ONE!

My lips were not overly dry but they do crave a little extra hydration. I like to keep them plump to also help prevent fine lines from forming.

Results:

Did I love this lip gloss right away? No! Not at all 😅

When I first put this vegan lip gloss on I thought it felt really freaken nice. I think I even said to myself “Oh wow, that feels good”. 

And then I walked to my bed, licked my lips & went, “yuck”!

It does not taste amazing but I kept using it & I have to tell you, the flavour not being super tasty actually stops you from licking your lips when it’s on and I think that helps in allowing the ingredients to really sink in. 

Final Thoughts: 

This vegan beauty item works! It truly is the type of hydration I was looking for. I apply this twice a day, morning & night, and my lips stay hydrated ALL DAY LONG!!!

I can get past the weird taste because it works so well. Honestly, try it! The flavour might not even bother you at all, it could just be a me thing. Which is why I always say, what works for me might not work for you & vice versa. So always give something a go if you really want to try it out. 

I also really enjoy supporting a brand that is actively trying to make a difference. Kosas is pushing past the traditional clean beauty standards by defining their own higher merits. 

Will I Re-purchase?

Honestly, I think this might beat my old ride or die from Kopari! 

If you read my review on Kopari’s Coconut Lip Glossy you’d know that a replacement would be a hard thing to find. But this one from Kosas knocks Kopari’s out of the park. Don’t get me wrong, Kopari’s is still amazing, but this one is better.
