I tried this vegan skincare item so you don’t have to!
Read this vegan skincare review before spending your hard earned money on Tata Harper’s Hydrating Floral Essence.
Price: (50ML) $96 CAD (At the time of this publishing)
Initial Reaction: I was super excited to try this. It sounds so luxurious & hydrating. The packaging is a nice heavy tinted glass bottle. I like that the spritz gold top twists off so you could technically re-purpose the bottle afterwards. You could even make your own DIY facial mist with essential oils. The mister quality is ok, not the finest mist but not the worst either.
Usage: Purchased – November 2019 – Finished – March 2020 (4 months usage roughly). I usually only applied this with my AM skincare & every once in awhile at night or with a face mask. (~ .80¢ a day)
Skin Concerns:
- Dryness
- Breakouts
- Uneven Texture
- Pore Size
- Dullness
- Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Claims: “A hydrating essence that moisturizes and plumps with hyaluronic acid and natural humectants. Also preps skin for maximum absorption of treatments that follow. Best for dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.”
Results: Meh… I didn’t really find it did much of anything. It did not leave my skin feeling or looking more hydrated. There were no plumping effects either. I will say, it did help with the dullness & it left a nice glow after finishing my skincare routine.
Final Thoughts: IT DOES NOT SMELL NICE! And that is me being nice. It legit smells like they crushed the entire dandelion plant & now you’re spraying it all over your face. The smell doesn’t linger but it’s kind of a lot. Just going to start with that.
As with any mist or essence, it’s a completely optional step and in most cases it doesn’t really provide too much extra skincare.
Generally I use mists in between my serum & moisturizer application. Products like mists, sprays, or essences are like toppers, they give a little something extra but they’re completely unnecessary.
The only time I really think you could actually benefit from a skincare spray is when your skin is very dry. Say after a long flight, too much time in the sun, or cold dry winter months.
Will I Re-purchase? Ah hell no! I don’t think I will be re-purchasing this item, as I truly didn’t see much positive change in my skin. There are way better vegan skincare sprays out there. And while the day-to-day price is rather affordable, the initial upfront cost is also quite high. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Where To Buy? Tata Harper Site, Sephora, & anywhere else that sells Tata Harper products
A couple better facial sprays I recommend…

wow! amazing
Can’t believe they can charge so much for just an ok product.
Thank you for this review.
Reviews like this help so much, especially when a product is so pricey. Thank you!
Honest reviews are important!
Thank you, I definitely value them myself
I can’t even imagine spending that much on a skin care product. And then to find out it really didn’t do anything AND smells bad?
If it’s worth it then ok sure, but exactly, if it doesn’t work, then such a rip off.
Wow, that’s crazy money!
Appreciate your honesty and candor. Price rarely equals effectiveness. I use some more expensive products, but I also love some of my tried and true from Neutrogena, Almay, etc.
Yup, I agree.
that’s really pricey! thanks for your honest review Im always on the look of cruelty free/ vegan beauty products
Love that and my pleasure!
Thank you for this honest review!
Love the no BS review! I definitely won’t be trying this! Smell is super important to me with any product near my face!
Thank you! Definitely don’t want anyone wasting their money.
Thank you for an honest opinion! I’ve never gone for the mists/sprays. I think I’ll continue with what I have!
Ya, they’re so not necessary.
Thank you for this review! I like buying skin products and definitely going to cross this off my list!
My pleasure! Happy to help
Ew! The smell would put me off the product for sure. I am very scent-sensitive, so that would not work for me!
Haha it was not my fav scent
Wowwww I really appreciate you for your honesty! I don’t think I’ll personally give this one a try just yet. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure! I don’t want anyone to spend their money on products without being informed first.
Thanks for the review, I really like to try new skincare products but you’re right, it can be expensive! Love to have a review first!
The prices just seem to keep going up too.
I’m sorry the spray didn’t pan out the way you hoped! Hopefully the right one will come along soon….at a lower price tag!
Aw thanks!
Good to know! If I want to invest money in products , I want them to be really good!
Right?!
Sounds luxurious!
Love the honest review so I don’t waste my money!
This is super helpful. I really appreciate others’ reviews before spending (or wasting potentially) hard earned money. Thanks! <3
Me too. I always look for reviews on products first.
Great review! Expense is not something I look at if it’s a product that does what I want!! Thank you for sharing your insight!
Exactly, if it works then awesome I’ll take it. But if it doesn’t and it’s expensive, not cool!
Thanks for the review! Sounds like it’s not the best product out there
There’s definitely better options for a lower price too.
I’m always looking for something to help my skin…it’s good to know the results may not be what they claim before spending so much money!
Totally!
Great review! I appreciate the honesty with a product like this, because it is so expensive. The description of the smell was memorable. I am glad that more companies are making natural products with quality ingredients. However, they still need to be worth the price and effective!
Me too! I am so happy to have clean beauty becoming so important to more and more people. And the only way people will stick to them is if the products work.
