Initial Reaction: Mad Hippie was so gracious to provide the show that I’m working on (Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol) with a ton of free products to try out & use on our actors and ourselves. When we were looking at their website, this was one item that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on.
I am all about gentle exfoliation and I love doing at home Microdermabrasion with my PMD. So when I saw that Mad Hippie had a gentle microdermabrasion made with probiotics & fruit acid complex, I had to try this for myself.
When I first opened up the box I was so happy to see the cutest little wooden spoon. So happy that it wasn’t the usual plastic kind.
Usage: I’ve been using this once a week for the past month so I still have a ton of product left. Normally when I do a product review I’ve used it for longer than this so I’m able to break down it’s dollar value.
Skin Concerns:
- General dryness
- Fine lines
- Enlarged pores
- Minimal breakouts
- Slight Rosacea on cheeks
Claims: “Micro-exfoliants join forces with 6 alpha hydroxy acids plus probiotics to brighten, soften & smooth. Physical exfoliants, bamboo & volcanic ash, gently buff away dry, dull skin, while half a dozen AHAs, including glycolic & mandelic acid, offer a gentle chemical exfoliation that leaves you glowing! + Probiotics to soothe and nourish. A true dermabrasion treatment that can be used up to 2x weekly for an at-home spa experience!”
Results: This stuff is really nice. It has a clean almost citrus oat like scent even though I don’t believe there’s any oats in the ingredients haha. The spoon scoops a perfect amount to use on your entire face. The texture is very creamy but gritty as there are physical exfoliants as well as AHAs for brighter, smoother skin.
Simply rub the product onto your damp face, gently rubbing all over leaving the delicate skin around your eyes. Leave the product on for 3 minutes to absorb the amazing skincare properties and then simply rinse away.
You’ll be left with smooth, polished soft skin that’s ready for your serums & moisturizers. Since you just exfoliated I would recommend using some of your more gentle skincare items because your skin will be a little more sensitive. I also recommend exfoliating in the evening so that you don’t have to worry about sunscreen.
Final Thoughts: I’m really enjoying this gentle microdermabrasion from Mad Hippie. I’m going to continue to use this once a week, they do say it’s gentle enough to use twice a week but depending on your skin type that might be too much.
Will I Re-Purchase? Not only is this a great product but Mad Hippie is also an incredible company. All of their products are vegan & cruelty free and they donate $1 dollar from every single online purchase 🙌
