Vegan Valentine’s Gift Ideas: You know, the last “real” date my husband and I had together was on February 15th 2020 for Valentine’s! We don’t really love going out on the 14th because everywhere is just so busy, so we try to celebrate either before or after.
We went to one of my fav vegan restaurants, Planta Queen for some delicious Asian fusion dishes. It was fun to put on some Valentine’s Day makeup & to do my hair. That was also one of the last times I used my amazing Dyson Airwrap too.
I know many of us are getting back to going out to restaurants & travelling again, although I’m still staying home mostly. I do not want to get stuck travelling somewhere because I caught COVID and then have to spend even more to isolate in a hotel room 😅.
All of that being said, I thought it would be nice to put together a cute little list of some great vegan Valentine’s Day gift ideas that would be perfect for everyone.
Let’s start with the most cliché but also the most delicious vegan valentine’s gift… CHOCOLATE!!!
- No Whey Large Chocolate Truffle Heart Box – They also have smaller boxes & special vegan valentine’s chocolate bars & sweets. I’ve found No Whey products at my local Health Food Grocers or online. There’s nothing else that quite says “Happy Valentine’s Day” than a box full of chocolates, especially yummy delicious vegan chocolates.
Also to note, the No Whey chocolate quality is quite top notch!
2. Fragrance – I used to wear perfume all of the time without the faintest care of what I was spraying on my body. Nowadays I barely wear anything other than an essential oil roller or a light clean or natural fragrance. But there is something about a certain scent that can make you feel romantic or take you back to a happy memory.
One of the easiest ways to find vegan fragrances is to use the Sephora search & filter. All you have to do is type in vegan in their search bar and then use the filter tabs. Go to fragrance & in the fragrance section they have their own vegan fragrance category AND all of the cleaner more natural fragrances have a “Clean at Sephora” sticker. How awesome is that?
When you do this, you’ll find a ton of clean beauty and all vegan fragrances. Some of the most popular vegan fragrances are from Clean Reserve, Ellis Brooklyn, & Rosie Jane.
3. Candles – If you can’t have a fire going, what’s the next best thing for a romantic vegan Valentine’s Day? That’s right, candles! Be sure to use candles that are not only vegan but also on the clean/eco side. It’s crazy how many chemicals can be found in ordinary candles.
One of my favourite vegan candle brands is Voluspa. Their candles are so rich & decadent. They always come in the most beautiful containers, especially their glass holders, which I like to re-purpose as plant pots later one, they’re just so pretty. They have a line of Valentine’s specific candles as well.
Here is a really cool & beautiful Toronto local vegan candle company. I love how sensual these candles are. These would make a beautiful valentine’s gift & it’s a great way to shop local/support a small indie brand, La Femme.
4. Plants – Yes plants, not flowers! We all love a beautiful bouquet right? I get that, I do too, but a plant can live on for forever and it’s a great way to commemorate a relationship. I love getting a plant and remembering how long I’ve had it, perhaps it’s moved around with me over the years, they kind of become your silent buddies. So I highly recommend giving plants instead of flowers, sometimes!
Checkout this really great article on the 10 most Romantic Houseplants. Some of these are just too cute.
5. Makeup/Romantic Eye Shadow Palette – You know I had to throw some sort of makeup in this list, haha. To be honest, getting all “dolled” up is a huge part of Valentine’s Day for many people. So even if you’re celebrating Velentine’s Day at home this year, that’s ok and it’s more than ok to still do your hair, put a face of makeup on, and a cute little outfit and enjoy yourself.
My favourite way to find new vegan makeup is to use that Sephora search engine again. I simply type in “vegan” in the search bar and then I use the filters on the left side to gauge what type of makeup I’m looking for. In this case, I’m looking for a romantic & sultry vegan eye shadow palette.
I’ve recommended a very similar palette to this one before from Aether Beauty, in my Vegan Wellness Gift List article because it is such a beautiful palette. I love that Aether Beauty is clean beauty & that they’re a smaller brand to support. This palette would create such a gorgeous blown out sultry look.
For a more reasonably priced palette I recommend this stunning Wander Beauty vegan eye shadow palette. Another smaller beauty brand to support without compromising on quality. This little palette has some beautiful mattes & satins to help create a gorgeous Valentine’s Day makeup look. ($30 CAD – Sephora)
There you have it, a simple gift list to have a wonderful cruelty-free & vegan Valentine’s Day. What are you planning for Valentine’s Day this year? I’d love to hear in the comments below.

Great Valentine’s Gift List Ideas
Oh man, I should have forwarded this to my bf earlier 😀 ..we don’t really celebrate Valentine’s but who doesn’t like an occasion for gifts and treats! Usually it’s just dinner at home (made by him) but next time I’m gonna share these ideas 😉
It can be such a silly holiday but it is nice sometimes to get sweet little romantic gifts. Dinners cooked with love at home are the best!
These are amazing vegan gifts. I’ll take all of the plants. Hands down!!! My fav is snake plant.
Snake plants are so resilient. I think I’ve nearly killed mine 3 times and it always bounces back haha.
I love plants over flowers. Least they last a bit longer! Especially succulents – those are my favorite!
Succulents are so cute. I really like them too.
Love plants!
Me too!
I love that all the vegan gifts you recommend for Valentine’s day are personal and show that an effort was made. I didnt realize Sephora had that search capability.
Aw thanks! Yes, that search feature is so key!
Bookmarking this right away. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure <3
Totally agree about how important it is to look for eco friendly candles. And I had no idea fragrance wouldn’t be vegan?!
I know, they throw animal ingredients into just about anything strangely.
Those are lovely ideas! And the food made me hungry! Now I think I shall grab a piece of chocolate
I still need to find a box of these vegan chocolates myself.
You had me at chocolate! I can’t do dairy, so those would be perfect for me!! YUM!
They’re delicious! I hope you can find some 😛
Great ideas! My folks used to give each other plants for special occasions.
Aw I love that! <3
Nice list of unique Valentine’s gifts. I really liked the candles.
Aren’t they so pretty and cool? I need to get some new ones.
What great Valentine’s Day options! I love that there are so many vegan options now!
It’s so nice being able to access vegan products so easily for sure.
Great Valentine’s gift ideas! I’m all about the chocolates!
They’re so yummy, me too haha <3
I love the vegan chocolate, a sweet treat.
Me too. So yummy <3
This is an awesome list. I would have never thought about Vegan gifts!! Your going out look last V-day was on point!!
Aw thank you so much! I think that was also the last time I wore a full face of makeup haha.
These are such thoughtful gift ideas! I’m going to look for that candle brand! We are staying home…no surprise…and cooking some of our face vegan food!
The candles are so great. Aw I hope you have a wonderful Vegan Valentine’s Dinner <3
I much prefer plants to flowers 🙂
Me too! I like flowers and they smell amazing, but plants can live with you for forever.
I was just talking with a friend of mine who is vegan and learned so many things and options I knew nothing about. Thanks for this info!
My pleasure <3
These look like excellent gifts! We would have never thought you could make your own makeup!
Make your own makeup? haha I don’t think I said that in this post although it is totally possible to make your own makeup. 😛
Great suggestions! I love plants, personally!
Plants are so awesome!
I’m not vegan but it certainly looks like an interesting array of suggestions.
Candles are quite interesting 😛
Love this! And guess what? I just made my first order at No Whey! But shhhhh! Don’t tell the kids or hubby! *wink wink* I really miss chocolate truffles on Valentine’s Day, and I’ve wanted to try No Whey’s chocolates! I got one of the heart boxes and the cute little lollipops for the kids. Now I just gotta get the hubby to share with me LOL! Thanks for all the good ideas. I’ve been looking at vegan makeup lately. It’s been one of the things I keep putting off because I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole. But apparently I need to check out Sephora lol!
Oh my goodness you’re going to love them!!! You have to let me know when you get them and how good they are haha.
For Sephora, just type Vegan and then you can filter all of the categories that you’d like to checkout. Also, you can run anything by me and I’ll tell you if it’s worth it or not <3
Well, this is the second year now that I’ve ordered No Whey for the kids and hubby. This year we got the vegan version of M&Ms. I think they’re called NoNos. They are SO awesome. They even sell them in the tubes like M&Ms are sold in. So my kids love it! I’ve also been searching around Sephora for all their vegan makeup and loving some of it. But my husband usually chooses to get me flowers (or plants) since I’m such a lover of anything growing lol! I’ve seen some other accidentally vegan sweets popping up lately too and have purchased some of those for the kids as well!
I saw those NoNos! They looked so cute in the red, pink, and white Valentine’s colours. I can’t wait for the day when all chocolate is vegan chocolate, hehe.
I think chocolate is cliché for a reason…we always want some! lol!
Totally! We all love some good chocolate.
I am definitely into Vegan makeup. When I first started keeping The Torah, I found out mascara can be made from bat dung. YUCK
Isn’t it crazy some of the ingredients that we put into thing, super yuck!
What a beautiful candle jar. I love that brand. The eyeshadow palette caught my eye too
Such a great candle company. They smell amazing.
Thank you for this post! It’s very informative and helpful or later pursuits 🙂
No problem at all <3
I agree with you, going out on V-day is so crowded. I like celebrating before or after!
Right? Just not worth all of the fuss haha.
Great ideas! I definitely need more perfume, lol.
I love that clean fragrance has come a long way.
What great ideas for Valentines Day. I never knew so many vegan options existed. But, hands down, my favorite had to be the chocolate!! Who doesn’t love chocolate?
Exactly, cliché or not, it’s the damn best haha.
IF we go out we always avoid going on Valentine’s Day as well. Usually a week or two afterwards since it always seems like restaurants are swamped for quite a while.
It’s true. It’s not worth all the fuss or the special dinner surcharges 😉
Great ideas! I think a plant is a great gift for Valentines!
And they’ll always remember you for it <3
Chocolate and candles are always great gift ideas in my book.
It’s hard to go wrong with either of those!
You picked out some really awesome gifts not only for Valentine’s but birthdays or any special occasion!
Aw thanks Holly. It’s true, they’re pretty great for any occasion.
