For so many people around the world Advent Calendars are a huge part of the Christmas fun. Unfortunately for vegans they’re not as easily accessible as they are for non-vegans. Did you know originally Advent calendars started in Germany with little candies attached to cardboard? Makes sense, but I didn’t know that, haha.
Actually, I’ve never even had my own Advent Calendar ever. We didn’t really celebrate Christmas growing up and then going vegan as a kid so ya, I never had one. But this year, I saw VEGAN ADVENT CALENDARS sitting on an end cap in my local grocer! So obviously I had to buy one & see what all the fun is about.
I’ll say this; it’s cool to always have 1 little dedicated treat for yourself each day up until Christmas. I like that, it’s fun.
The one I found in store is from the company No Whey! Which has a top 8 allergen free facility.
“This product is made in a dedicated facility free from the top 8 common food allergens and is gluten free. This product is dairy free, peanut free, tree nut free, soy free, wheat free, egg free, fish free, shellfish free, and gluten free.”
But man, scouring the internet trying to see what other vegan chocolate Advent Calendar options there are, there is clearly a big opportunity for chocolate companies everywhere to step up and create more vegan versions. Every vegan chocolate advent calendar I saw was OUT OF STOCK! But, I guess that’s a nice thing to see. The demand is there! (As I’m posting this, I just checked the No Whey! website & this is now sold out too! Perhaps it’s still accessible in stores though? For real though, if you make vegan chocolate, MAKE VEGAN ADVENT CALENDARS! And then please send me a royalty cheque, haha) But, I guess that’s a nice thing to see. The demand is there!
Advent Calendars are cool too because they can kind of sorta be whatever you want them to be. There are tea calendars, makeup ones, homemade calendars; pretty much anything can be made into an Advent Calendar.
Here are a few more vegan friendly Advent Calendar ideas:

4. Recently I’ve seen so many fun Homemade Advent Calendar ideas; some for kids to get them to read more, some for couples to get them to appreciate one another more, and some that are fun like daily scavenger hunts. It’s such a cool way to get creative & personalize such a long-standing simple tradition.
This site has some cute ideas just keep in mind a lot of felt is made from wool, so if you decide to make any felt ones be sure to find synthetic fibers.
Vegan Advent Calendars and where to find them
I love these vegan advent calendar ideas!
I think it is great you were able to find vegan advent calendar.
Thank you! Me too haha!
Interesting take on the advent season!
It was nice to try it out.
You would think that vegan calendars would have caught on sooner!! Glad you are finally getting to experience the fun! We get calendars for our kids every year!
Right?! considering how quickly they clearly sell out! I can see why kids love them.
I never thought about this being an issue. wow!
Right? Hopefully they step it up haha.
We got an Advent Calendar that has books for the kids. Nice alternative to candy.
Agreed! There’s so much candy & food this time of year anyways, great idea.
What a perfect holiday tradition for those with a vegan diet.
Right? So nice to have.
His Advent Calendar is the only thing keeping my 4 yo grandson from going bonkers!
haha totally! I can see why kids love them so much.
How cool! This is never something I had ever considered not being vegan, but the more I think about it, you’re totally right!
Right?! Like someone could really cash in here haha.
Dude. Why’d ya have to go and show me Lush has an advent calendar? Now I gotta go get it lol. I love that place! But I haven’t gone much since going plant-based and vegan because I wasn’t sure they were vegan. We get advent calendars every year… but since I have kids and couldn’t find a vegan edible one, they’re toys. Not treats. 😉 Like the LEGO advent calendar lol.
Lego advent? That’s such a great idea too! Almost everything at Lush is vegan but it will say on the package whether it is or not. I think the only thing they might use is like honey or maybe a milk? But mostly vegan.
My kids love advent calendars! They make the season so fun!
Totally! I honestly had no idea until I tried one and well… ate it all but… I can see why kids love them haha.
I love all the different Advent calendar options they have now!
Same! Traditions can remain but they can also change and adapt with the times right?
I can image it would be hard to find one with food. Awesome to make homemade ones and send a gift a little early to everyone!
For sure. Everyone loves early gifts anyways.
What a great idea. Companies should definitely make vegan advent calendars since there are so many people now with that dietary restriction. Thanks for sharing!
It’s a business opportunity waiting to happen for sure!
I love the candle one…a different scent every day.
I know. And they’re so pretty to look at too.
I bought the e.l.f 24 day advent calendar before they sold out! I always try to find companies that are conscientious and these calendars are amazing.
Oh that’s awesome! ELF really is a great brand. The quality for their price point is always really good too.
