It’s National Smoothie Day (June 21st) or if you’re like me, well then it’s smoothie day every single morning haha. So, I figured that I should probably share with you all my very favourite and healthiest vegan green smoothie recipe. This recipe is great because it’s low in sugar, filled with fibre, and you can literally switch up the ingredients so easily. Had too much spinach the past week, cool, I got you! Insert kale, chard, etc. I like to switch it up from time to time to get different seasonal greens in.
Now I can’t take full credit for this green masterpiece, even though I do make my own unique twists & additions. The true creator is the wonderful Kimberly Snyder. The Healthiest Vegan Smoothie

Ingredients
1 Banana
3 Celery Stalks
Handful of Spinach (I prefer fresh but frozen is fine too)
15ml Chia Seeds (optional)
15ml Hemp Seeds (optional)
1 Head of Romaine
1 Green Apple
1 Pear
15ml Apple Cider Vinegar (optional)
5ml NutraVeg Omega Plant Extract (optional)
45 drops Grapefruit seed extract (optional)
Water
Directions
- I like to add my ingredients in the order listed above. I chop & cut everything to fit easily.
- Add water to the max fill line (sometimes I go right up to where it says Vitamix)
- Blend until everything is completely smooth
- Pour and enjoy!

Notes
- Feel free to swap out your spinach for other leafy greens. And don’t be afraid to add parsley or cilantro. Even pineapple makes a nice swap for the pear or apple.
I drink this vegan green smoothie every single morning for breakfast. It fills me up & packs me with all of the nutrients and fibre my body needs first thing in the morning. If you ever try this recipe out, let me know what you think about it. When I added this vegan green smoothie to my life nearly 10 years ago I noticed improvements in my skin, my hair (even when coloured) has never been healthier, and my energy levels have been wonderful. I also like knowing that the very first meal that goes into my body after a fasted sleep is something that’s so healthy and easy for my body to digest. Then if I eat vegan junkfood throughout the day I feel less guilty too 😅.

I’ll have to try this smoothie! I usually start the day with celery juice and then a fruit smoothie with bananas and then a variety of frozen and fresh fruits plus additives like chia and hemp seeds, spirulina, barley grass juice powder and anything else I feel like my body needs!

I think I’m so used to it that I just love it but it can definitely vary in flavour on any given day. Sometimes I notice more banana which makes it sweeter and other days I get the celery which, if you don’t love celery then it might take some getting used to.
