Have you noticed that more and more people are using air fryers? We use our Cuisinart Air Fryer almost every single day, that’s why I think they really are a Vegan Kitchen Must Have Item! Continue reading to find out why they’re so awesome & some yummy little tips!
Price: $229.95 CAD
Initial Reaction: Why didn’t I buy one sooner?!! Let me just tell you, I am in love with my air fryer and I cannot see my life without one, especially as a vegan. Every vegan kitchen needs an airfryer. Crispy tofu, need I say more?
Usage:
- Tofu – Crispy Tofu Cubes/Steaks/Crumble (Add some Herbamare & Nooch beforehand, set fryer to AirFry @ 300-350° & set timer for 10-20mins. Keep an eye & when it starts turning golden brown/yellow, you are done! (Might need to turnover depending on what you’re making)
- You can even shred the tofu in a grater and air bake the shredded tofu for a vegan take on pulled pork, eggless salad, etc.
- Carrot Bacon – This recipe from @Iamtabithabrown is amazing! Tabitha Brown loves having one in her vegan kitchen too.
- French Fries – follow packaging instructions
- Dehydrated Fruit – Thinly slice your healthy snacks & use a low AirFry setting
- Beyond Burgers & Sausages, Frozen Dinners, Toast, Burritos, Leftovers… and so much more!!!
Claims: “This unique kitchen workhorse is actually a premium full size toaster oven with a built-in airfryer. That means it not only bakes, broils, and toasts, it also lets you airfry right inside the oven. Air frying, which uses powerful ultra-hot air, is a healthier way to prepare delicious fried favorites, … And since toaster ovens stay on the countertop, this fryer doesn’t have to move back and forth, from cupboard to counter. Enjoy the crunch without the calories and messy cleanup, with the AirFryer Toaster Oven!”
Final Thoughts: I think an Airfryer is definitely an essential for vegan kitchens. I’ve found that you don’t need to press your tofu because this thing helps suck the extra moisture out while keeping it soft yet crispy. I love adding crispy tofu cubes to things like soups, stir fry’s, and salads.
As it claims, you do not have to add any extra oil like some other Airfryers or traditional pots & pans. This really helps keep your dishes as healthy as possible, creating that healthy vegan kitchen.
I also love this particular Cuisinart Airfryer because of the extra features. The fact that you can use it as a toaster, which helps free up some extra counter space. It has a warming function that comes in handy if you’re warming up leftovers or a late night supper (healthier alternative to microwaves too). And there are 4 other functions for all of your cooking/baking needs; Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Bake, Broil.
Where To Buy? Amazon, CuisinArt site, Canadian Tire, & other small appliance stores.
